Well I'm back again and these past two weeks have felt like forever but have gone by relatively quick at the same time. Time as a missionary really makes no sense. But there's some big things that have been happening recently.
First off, I will be leaving Lincoln City after being here for 2 transfers (12 weeks) and I will be going to the Keizer 1st Ward which borders my last ward Jan-Rae. I'm sad to be leaving the coast because there's almost a 100% chance that I won't see it again while being a missionary but I have been so blessed to be able to spend almost 10 months of my mission on the beautiful Oregon coast. |

My new address will be 870 Foothill CT Apt.104 Keizer, Oregon 97303. I will be with Elder Shakespear for his last transfer so I will be killing off my first missionary! I have served around him in the past and he is a great seasoned missionary so I am excited to be able to serve with him.
As I stated (I think) in my last short weekly, we had the opportunity to go to the Portland Temple which isn't even in Portland it is in Tigard but nevertheless it is still absolutely beautiful. It was so fun because while I was there I got to see a few different members that I love from past areas and I was able to talk with them for a few minutes. The spirit inside of the temple is always amazingly strong, it is definitely the House of the Lord because you can feel his presence. One of the people we have been working with here in Lincoln City told us to not take her up the temple until she gets baptized, in her words she said "if I get a feeling that the Lord is in there then I will run for it even if it means that I have to knock some people over". lol She wasn't being serious but I always found that funny. She will be going up to the temple on Tuesday so hopefully nothing happens otherwise I'll hear about it from Elder Fish. Oh Elder Fish will be training this next transfer and he is so excited! He is a great missionary and will make a great trainer to whoever he is getting from the Missionary Training Center.
As I have been going around saying bye to many people, we stopped by a member who is more wealthy to say goodbye and he has a very cool Book of Mormon. This wasn't just one of the normal ones that we hand out as missionaries but it was a 1830 Book of Mormon, one of the very first ones printed. It was so cool to be able to hold this book and hear about the history behind it and then ponder on the impact that it may have had on somebody's life to be able to read the Book of Mormon for the very first time and know about the impact that it has had on millions all around the world now.
As I sat there pondering my mind reflected back on all of the people who gave up everything to go to Nauvoo and many other places following a prophet of God and to hear his council and learn from all of his wisdom. He was just a man but a man with a very special calling that brought forth truth which sets us free from the chains of Satan. He brought forth the restoration of the Gospel. He helped to change millions of lives that he never met. All because he was willing to ask what is truth and what he needs to do to find the true church. I'm so grateful for him and for him going before God and pleading for guidance and being humble enough to follow the guidance of many angels and being courageous enough to push through the many people who fought against him. We see now the impact that he made on many people and we should all be grateful for him and that he has brought forth knowledge that brings us closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, if we are willing to search through it and pray to know of the truth of it.
